Preparation

Capturing quality audio begins well before pressing the “Record” button. It starts with preparing your environment – and yourself!

Select a quiet environment

Find an interior room in a quiet building. Turn off any air conditioners, fans, stereos, or other sources of ambient noise. Work away from other people and pets, and make sure you will have plenty of uninterrupted recording time.

Rehearse

Read through your script and rehearse your talking points out loud. Rehearse with an audience if possible, or at least in front of a mirror, to help identity problem areas in your presentation. This will also help you eliminate distracting habits like saying “um” or “ah.”
